Welcome to the finale of the Big Dumb Thing. If you’ve been following along with our Halloween Franchise Frenzy, you know that this is the end. The end of the line. The 11th movie and 5th chronology/reboot. The newest film, simply called Halloween (the third film in the franchise with that title) is a direct sequel to the original John Carpenter classic. The other 9 films are completely and totally ignored. The good news is that you don’t need to binge all 11 films (like we did). The even better news is that these are the two best films in the series, and watching them is the absolute best way to experience Michael Myers’ and Laurie Strode’s story. However, since the film is still in the theaters, we couldn’t present this in the same format as the previous 10 films. Podcast was a wiser – and vastly more appropriate (if you’ve seen the film) – choice. Here, Shiri, Preston, and I recap the entire Halloween franchise, gab about the new film, rank all 11 films, and share our lists of Top 10 Lessons Learned. And trust me, you’ll want to stick around to the end when I act out various lines of dialogue from the films for Shiri and Preston to guess the character and film. We’re going to win awards for this one, folks.
