(previous interviews in this series can be found here.) Welcome to another installment of 5 Questions with a 5-Year-Old. Today, Zoey chats with Leslie Carrara-Rudolph, the amazing Muppeteer behind Sesame Street’s Abby Cadabby. Be sure to also check out Zoey’s chat with Abby! Yes, Leslie is the voice and talent behind (under?) everyone’s favorite fairy-in-training, Abby Cadabby. Both Leslie and Abby debuted on Sesame Street in 2006 (Season 37), and Leslie has since gone on to voice several other characters. Leslie comes from a performing arts background and has extensive experience not only as a puppeteer but also as a singer, actress, and voice talent. In addition to her work on Sesame Street, Leslie has developed numerous other projects…including Wake Up Your Weird! starring the inimitable Lolly Lardpop. Wake Up Your Weird! is a multimedia stage musical designed to help kids get through bullying and self-esteem issues by embracing their individuality and navigating life through the arts. Check here for more information and a schedule of upcoming performances. I for one can’t wait to see it. As always, all questions are Zoey’s. I simply prompt her with “clue words” so she can remember. (Make sure you turn on subtitles if you can’t make out Zoey’s questions.) Thanks so much to Leslie Carrara-Rudolph for taking the time to chat with Zoey. Thanks also to Ellen Lewis and Jodi Lefkowitz at Sesame Workshop for helping to arrange the interview!
