By Jamie Greene May 9, 2019 ShareTweet 1 As we previously announced, Fathom Events and GKIDS have arrived to save 2019 with Studio Ghibli Fest. From April through December, Studio Ghibli Fest 2019 will present nine of the studio’s best and most beloved films on the big screen – where they absolutely deserve to be seen. In May, we’re treated with the granddaddy of them all – the film that kickstarted Studio Ghibli into an actual studio: Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind. This year also happens to be the film’s 35th anniversary. A thousand years after the Seven Days of Fire destroyed civilization, warring human factions survive in a world devastated by atmospheric poisons and swarming with gigantic insects. The peaceful Valley of the Wind is nestled on the edge of the Toxic Forest and led by the courageous Princess Nausicaä, whose love of all living things leads her into terrible danger, as she fights to restore balance between humans and nature. The film will have only two screenings, so don’t miss it: May 20 (English dub) and May 21 (English subtitles). Check showtimes and theaters, and buy tickets here. Both versions are great, so it’s hard to make a bad choice between the two. The English dub for Nausicaä features Alison Lohman, Uma Thurman, Patrick Stewart, Edward James Olmos, and Shia LaBeouf. But here’s where the fun begins. As we will for all nine entries in this year’s Studio Ghibli Fest, we have a pair of tickets for one lucky Roarbots reader! The tickets will be good for one AMC or Regal theater of your choice (that’s showing the film, obviously), so check here for convenient theaters. Enter using the widget below, and good luck! This giveaway is now over. Thanks for entering! You Might Also Like...
