I’m just going to go ahead and say it: Batman: The Animated Series is the greatest animated series of all time. And Mask of the Phantasm is the greatest Batman feature film of all time. Don’t @ me. So it is a distinct thrill to see the entire series finally get the blu-ray treatment. Time to trade in your VHS and DVDs and upgrade your collection, folks! Though most of the episodes were previously released on DVD in season sets, this is the first time they’ve been remastered and “cleaned up” since their original 1992-1995 airing. And they look incredible. And listen, I’m going to be straight with you. I get a lot of review copies of books, blu-rays, and whatnot sent to my door, but this set? I actually bought this one. How could I not? The set retails for $112.99, which is a downright bargain for what’s included. So, what’s included? 2,700 minutes of the best Batman spread over 10 blu-ray discs All 109 episodes of Batman: The Animated Series Digital copies of all 109 episodes 2 bonus discs featuring Mask of the Phantasm and SubZero The Heart of Batman, a brand-new 90-minute making-of documentary 11 episodes with audio commentaries featuring original cast and crew 3 Funko mini-figurines (Batman, Joker, Harley Quinn) 7 lenticular art cards Drop-dead gorgeous packaging This is my Christmas gift to myself this year. It should also be yours. Also, please note: the print run of this box set is limited to 70,000. That might seem like a lot, but I have no doubt it will sell out. So if you’re even remotely interested in adding this amazing set to your collection (and you should be), don’t sleep on this one. Grab it now. You Might Also Like...
