ShareTweet 0 Did you think Hasbro was done with their epic Ghostbusters x Transformers mashup after Ectotron? Think again. Ripped straight from the pages of the IDW comic, Hasbro is reissuing Masterpiece Optimus Prime with a brand-new deco and accessories inspired by Ghostbusters. The only mode he should ever be in – look at that trailer! Dubbed ECTO-35 (a nice nod to the 35th anniversary event going on this year), Prime has a striking white, red, and blue-gray design. I’m really digging the trailer, tampoed with the oft-forgotten Ghostbusters slogan “We’re ready to believe you” and what I’m assuming is the remains of a slimer. Bustin’ makes him feel good. Speaking of, the hygiene-challenged ghost of the first movie is included in the MP-10G set, along with a ghost trap attachment for Roller, turning him into the first sentient ghost trap. There’s also a proton pack that fits on top of the trailer and I’m guessing on Prime as well (though none of the product shots show it). Who you gonna call? Optimus was available briefly on June 25 on NTWRK (a subscription-only home shopping site that no one had ever heard of until this collaboration), but missing it there doesn’t mean you’re forever without the companion to your Ecotron. You can get MP-10G Optimus Prime ECTO-35 at SDCC for $149. The figure will also be available at Fan Expo Canada in August. Does this mean that Optimus Prime is, himself, a ghost? After that, we’ll hopefully see Optimus for sale on HasbroPulse, along with other convention exclusives. I’ll be back with more SDCC news soon! You Might Also Like...
