We were recently invited by Disney Parks and MomSelect to host a DisneyKids preschool playdate for our little guy—a Jake and the Neverland Pirates playdate, no less. Arr, matey!

Sam (like most younger siblings) seems to forever live in his older sister’s shadow. Even though we made a concerted effort to set up playdates and help Zoey (his sister) make new friends when she was very young, we unfortunately haven’t had the same energy for Sam. Sound familiar?

Well, when the package of party goodies arrived from Disney, Sam immediately knew it was all about him. And he was thrilled.

Both of my kids are big fans of Jake, Izzy, Cubby, and all the rest. So it was no surprise that they were both anxiously awaiting this party. They couldn’t wait to bust open the snacks, Kinetic Sand, and Mega Bloks.

The package was generously stuffed with almost everything you might want for a preschool party: plates, napkins, cups, party hats, tablecloth, snacks, toys, and great game and food ideas!

We began with coloring. A lot of coloring. The kids had a blast making masterpieces of various Disney Junior coloring sheets and straw toppers.

DisneyKidsWhile we had them all at the table, we decided to forego traditional party order and break out the cupcakes! Each of the Jake cupcakes came with a gold doubloon (or spyglass) on top, and they were a huge hit. (Doubloons and spyglasses were also in their goodie bags, but they didn’t know that.)

Happy, chocolatey faces were soon everywhere.

Once they were all sugared up, we headed downstairs for a few rounds of hide-and-seek with “Tick Tock Croc.” The kids took turns hiding a toy croc while everyone else impatiently counted in another room. I think I also heard a few “Avast, ye scurvy dogs!”

After a few rounds, the sugar really kicked in, and they broke out Twister. Isn’t that how every good party ends?

The kids ranged from preschool to 1st grade (3-6 years old), and they all had a great time. Everyone went home happy with a goodie bag stocked up with Disney Junior coloring sheets, gold doubloons, ClifKid protein bars, Kellogg’s fruit snacks, DisneySide chore charts, and other goodies.

Many thanks to MomSelect and Disney Parks for this great opportunity! If you’re interested in learning more, check out DisneyCelebrations.com, which has lots of great ideas, including recipes, game ideas, and advice for how to host your own Disney Playdate!

(Disclosure: I received free products in order to host the DisneyKids Preschool Playdate. All opinions remain my own.)
