You should know this by now, but Fathom Events and GKIDS have been quietly saving 2019 with Studio Ghibli Fest. From April through December, Studio Ghibli Fest 2019 is presenting nine of the studio’s best and most beloved films on the big screen – where they absolutely deserve to be seen. Fall is finally here, but before things get all spooky, let’s make some time for charming romance and The Secret World of Arrietty. Based on Mary Norton’s beloved The Borrowers, Arrietty was the directorial debut for Hiromasa Yonebayashi (who would later earn an Academy Award nomination for When Marnie Was There and also direct Mary and the Witch’s Flower and a segment in the wonderful Modest Heroes). And if you’ve never seen it on the big screen, then NOW is your chance! The film will only have two screenings, so don’t miss it: September 29 (English dub) and September 30 (English subtitles). Check showtimes and theaters, and buy tickets here. And here’s the fun part. As we’re doing for all nine entries in this year’s Studio Ghibli Fest, we have a pair of tickets for one lucky Roarbots reader! The tickets will be good for one AMC or Regal theater of your choice (that’s showing the film, obviously), so check here for convenient theaters. This giveaway is now over. Thanks for entering!
