ShareTweet 0 When your world looks kinda weird and you wish that you weren’t there, just close your eyes and make believe, and you can be anywhere! Having a nostalgia flashback yet? That’s right, Muppet Babies is back! The show premieres on Disney Junior this week (Friday, March 23, 2018), and if you’ve got a preschooler, you need to add this one to your DVR schedule. Everything you love about the original Muppet Babies is here – Kermit, Miss Piggy, Gonzo, Fozzie, Animal, Miss Nanny (and her ever-present stockings), and those amazing imagination sequences. This new version also introduces a new character – Summer Penguin – and sports a CG animation style that confuses your brain into thinking you’re watching live-action puppets running around. Today on the show, we chat with executive producer Tom Warburton (aka Mr. Warburton to fans of Codename: Kids Next Door, which he created). We discuss anxiety about returning to such a beloved property, getting Renée Elise Goldsberry to sing the theme song, finding a cast that could nail the familiar Muppet voices, collaborating with Mo Willems, and whether we’ll see his infamous illustrated lunch bags make a cameo on the show. You can listen on iTunes, Google Play, Spotify, TuneIn, Stitcher, and YouTube; you can follow the RSS feed; or you can listen right here! https://theroarbots.com/GBBShow/GBBShowE172.m4aPodcast: Play in new window | Download Connect: Tom Warburton is on Instagram here.
