ShareTweet 3 Update 3/3:Â Fixed Quake’s rarity and special ability – thanks, all! Do you like dealing damage? How about free damage? How about free damage to every character on your opponent’s team? Then you’re really going to like this exclusive Transformers: TCG character reveal! He Was Shakin’ Snappin’ his fingers. (Image: Wizards of the Coast/Hasbro) Decepticon Quake is an uncommon Ranged Tank type. In alt mode, he does a respectable amount of damage: 4, with an extra 2 damage if he’s the sole character on your side. But why would you want to have him acting on his own? Flip him to bot mode with his Titan Master Chasm to find out. In addition to the additional 2 damage given to him by Chasm, whenever Quake KO’s another character (or is KO’d himself), he does one point of damage automatically to every other character, including allies. After Quake, you get the… (Image: Wizards of the Coast/Hasbro) My only real concern is friendly fire to himself. I’m choosing to interpret this as happening after his body has been KO’d and while Chasm is in the process of flipping. Otherwise, poor Chasm (who’s also uncommon) would start off with only 3 health. Titan Masters are already squishy little things. They don’t need help on their way to oblivion. I Heard You Like Titan Masters So I Put a Titan Master on Your Titan Master So big his head needs a head. (Image: Wizards of the Coast/Hasbro) Although Quake might be the latest Transformers: TCG reveal, he’s not the biggest. That would belong to Fortress Maximus himself. The mighty one-per-booster-box bot has two Titan Masters, just like his Titans Return toy. And I’ll form one of the heads! (Image: Wizards of the Coast/Hasbro) What’s interesting is that, depending on which Titan Master you’re playing, you’ll have different added abilities. Like Bold 1 and Tough 1 when playing with Cerebros in head mode. I shall call him Mini-mini Me. (Image: Wizards of the Coast/Hasbro) But when Cerebros is in bot mode and Emissary is the head, Cerebros has Focus 2, which should give him a bit more survivability. Wave 5 Favorites There have been tons of additional reveals – far too many to cover in just one column, so I’m going to highlight a few that have stood out to me. Nice to see stratagems aren’t Wave 5 characters only. (Image: Wizards of the Coast/Hasbro) What’s interesting is that while stratagems might be a Wave 5 thing, some of them are for characters that have already been introduced, like the Camien Toughness card that enhances the Wave 3 Windblade, Combiner Hunter, or the Better Things to Do card for Springer. A ‘Vette with a Firebird hood decal? The nerve of this guy. (Image: Wizards of the Coast/Hasbro) One of my Wave 5 favorites, though, is Tracks, solely because he has a stratagem that gives him his highly dubious “car plane” mode from the original toy. Master of Metallikato! (Image: Wizards of the Coast/Hasbro) An additional favorite that’s showing up in Wave 5 is the master of Metallikato, Bludgeon (based on his Revenge of the Fallen toy – a fantastic figure that was buried in a truly horrendous movie line). Flying cars and ninjas? Must be the 80s. They each have their own stratagems, which means you’ll start caring a lot more about the battle cards that come in each booster. Without those extra abilities, you’ll be at a disadvantage. You’ll always be Weirdwolf to me. (Image: Wizards of the Coast/Hasbro) And one of my all-time favorite G1 figures, Weirdwolf, lives again as his Titan Masters version, Wolfwire. If you have a green-pip heavy deck, he’s going to be your new best friend. Subtlety? What’s that? (Image: Wizards of the Coast/Hasbro) He, of course, comes with his Titan Master Monxo, which gives an extra point of damage to attacks. There are a ton more reveals that have come through in the past few weeks, and I expect we’ll be seeing even more as the April 17 release date gets closer. I’ll be taking a closer look at what’s been shown off so far in the coming weeks. If you can, you’re going to want to get at least one whole box. (Image: Wizards of the Coast/Hasbro) Wave 5 is just over a month away from release, so make sure you preorder your Transformers: TCG Titan Masters Wave 5 booster box from Amazon. You’re definitely going to want your own Fortress Maximus as soon as the wave hits! You Might Also Like...
