I am so hyped for Captain Marvel to hit screens that I bought myself a ticket for the day of release. Except I need to sneak out and see it between the time I drop the kids off for school and pick them up. But it’ll be SO worth it. So imagine my excitement when this #PagingCaptainMarvel box showed up at my door! The box included the following goodies: Legends Captain Marvel 6-inch figure Legends Nick Fury 6-inch figure Legends Talos Skrull 6-inch figure Legends Yon-Rogg Kree 6-inch figure Photon Power FX Glove Captain Marvel Starforce Super Hero Doll Captain Marvel Super Hero Doll with Goose Captain Marvel Photon Power FX Super Hero Doll I know you’re jealous. Sorry. The Legends figures feature the expected high level of detail and articulation we’ve come to expect from the line, and three of the figures (Fury, Talos, and Yon-Rogg) include Build-a-Figure parts. I’m always keen to hang and display figures that show diversity and representation for my kids, so Captain Marvel and Nick Fury are welcome additions to my collection. I also love that Fury comes with a shackled Goose (aka Chewie) as a foreshadowing to just how dangerous Goose can be. (Maybe that’s how Fury lost his eye?) The Super Hero Dolls are similar to the (awesome) Star Wars Forces of Destiny and Marvel Rising lines. They’re all 11- inch dolls, are super poseable, have actual hair, and come with removable/changeable accessories. I really love the Starforce costume, but I also love the jacket over the costume with Goose Captain Marvel. Both feature costumes made entirely of cloth. The FX version, however, is molded plastic, but Carol’s chest, fists, and head light up! Finally, as a cosplayer and costume and prop designer and builder, my kids are constantly surrounded by costumes. They love superhero role-playing toys, and the Captain Marvel photon glove is fantastic. Except now they fight over who gets the photon glove and who gets Shuri’s gauntlet. Are you hyped for Captain Marvel? What are you most excited about? (Disclosure: Though I received the toys from Hasbro, all thoughts and opinions are my own.) You Might Also Like...
