Pounce and Wingspan (Image: Hasbro) Much like the retailer did with the Transformers War for Cybertron: Siege line, Target will be getting more exclusives for the latest War for Cybertron: Earthrise toy line. Earthrise Seekers 2-Pack (Image: Hasbro) This time around, we’re getting two Seekers instead of three. The Seeker 2-pack contains the Decepticon jets Thundercracker and Skywarp. Both are repaints of the latest Voyager jet, Starscream. Earthrise Seekers 2-pack Alt Mode (Image: Hasbro) Although some renders of Skywarp picture him with a standard Seeker head, others have him with the “shouty face” seen in previous WfC: Siege Seeker repaints. I suppose we’ll have to wait and see. I’m torn on the release. On one hand, it’s nice to get a two pack so it’s easier to collect the Seekers. On the other, it’s a shame these two standard characters are relegated to limited “exclusive” status (Thundercracker was a standard issue Voyager for WfC: Siege). Target’s last exclusive Seeker set, the Rainmakers, was hotly sought after because it depicted deep-cut characters that hadn’t previously been depicted in toy form and gave us brilliant technicolor decos, the likes of which we rarely see. We also got three figures instead of just two. This Seeker box set will fly off the shelves as well, however, since it’ll be our only chance to get two popular characters in their Earth-mode forms. It helps that the Earthrise Seeker mold is one of the best jets Hasbro has created in recent memory (well, as long as you look at it just from the top). The box set will retail for $59.99 when it hits shelves the first week of July. Pounce and Wingspan (Image: Hasbro) The other Target exclusive is a bit of a surprise. The Decepticon Clone pack contains Pounce and Wingspan. Two bots that, as the name implies, look exactly alike in bot mode (if you ignore their alt-mode kibble), but transform into different alt modes, a puma and an eagle. Pounce and Wingspan Alt Mode (Image: Hasbro) These are reissue figures from late in the Titans Return toy line, but with a little more purple in their decos this time around. Having them released together as a two-pack is also a bit of a relief. In Titans Return, you could only get both bots together if you imported the Takara set from Japan or you tracked down the Siege on Cybertron box set and the Walgreens-exclusive two-pack. An expensive proposition for two legends-sized figures. I enjoyed these figures when I got them in Titans Return. They do what modern Transformers do best—evoke their G1 toys while upgrading them to be the best version of what they can be. I’m happy to see fans will get a second chance to own these. Here’s hoping that an Autobot clone two-pack is on someone else’s exclusive list. Pounce and Wingspan will be on sale in early July for $24.99. You Might Also Like...
