The gang is FINALLY all together in this episode! For those of us who dearly missed the friends our Mando made along the way, it was rewarding to see them rally around this mission of getting the bounty off of Yoddle once and for all. The downside is that this is episode seven of eight, so we know we have limited time with them.

Things I Loved

That “cage fight” between Cara and the hot, big zabrak in the bone broth bar. The electric tether was cool, and Cara’s moves were amazing. It was obviously a regular thing that happens there because Cara seemed to know the gamblers and her opponent well enough. I bet she’s reigning champ.

I Was Proud of Mando When

He told Yoddle that Cara was his friend! I really don’t believe Mando has called anyone his friend during his adult life. Yes, the other Mandalorians are his family, but it’s not the same as choosing relationships that make you happy.

It Was Not Okay When

The blurrgs were taken by the terrordactyls (mynocks?)! It’s not fair that Greef’s henchmen were still alive, but the precious blurrgs who had never done anything wrong in their lives were made into meals.

Most Relatable Moments

When Greef decides to triple cross his associates because Yoddle healed his arm and also his heart. Protecting Yoddle is always the right thing to do.

Also when The Client leaned forward and said, “Show me the baby.” Because that’s how everyone feels when it’s been more than five minutes without Yoddle on screen.

I Did Not Expect

Deathtroopers! Honestly, I’m glad they brought them back from Rogue One because they are so cool and actually, ya know, deadly. Moff Gideon himself seems frighteningly charming and calm. He’s going to be a big problem that I hope will make him the overarching antagonist in Season 2.

The Real MVP

Kuiil is amazing. First, he goes and fixes IG-11 and reprograms it to become a nice helper droid then volunteers them both to go help Mando because “none will be free until the old ways are gone forever.” He also reprograms IG-11 for childcare so it can better protect Yoddle.

When he fights with Cara aboard the Razor Crest, his end response to her hostilities is to build an amazing new bassinet for Yoddle that has a CLOSABLE HOOD. Although she only rides in it a short while, Yoddle gives it a longing look when Kuiil takes her out to head back to the Razor Crest.

I think Kuiil is someone who can tell if people are trying their hardest/doing their best and respects that. He’s been nothing but sincere toward everyone around him, including the blurrgs, jawas, and Mando. Truly a hero.

I Really Hope…

Werner Herzog still gets to come visit Yoddle on set during Season 2 filming even though his character is dead.

This was a true cliffhanger. Our heroes were pinned down, Kuiil on the desert floor with Yoddle taken by some godforsaken scout troopers. All appears to be lost, what will the Mandalorian do?! To be continued!
