Awesome Con is only a few years old, but it quickly became one of the Washington, DC, region’s must-do events. For the longest time, DC was completely without a comic con to call its own. The Baltimore Comic-Con up the road is a solid con, and we go every year, but come on – Baltimore and DC are two different cities. Awesome Con opened its doors for the first time in 2013. It was just a small, one-room show that year, but it quickly – very quickly – expanded. And this year looks like it’s shaping up to be one of the best yet. John Boyega, John Barrowman, Michael Dorn, Michael Rooker, Rene Auberjonois, Stephen Amell, Cress Williams, BB-8, and so many more! One of the definite highlights of Awesome Con, though, is Awesome Con Jr. Kids (and kids at heart) can meet and greet with BB-8, Paddington, and Buddy the T-rex (from Dinosaur Train). DreamWorks Animation will have a booth with activities. And there’ll be an Easter egg hunt on Sunday morning. Hanging out with Toothless at Awesome Con 2017 There will also be panels and workshops to teach kids about art, cartooning, and interactive storytelling. And of course, there will also be a kids costume contest! But that’s really all just icing on the cake. Awesome Con itself is reason enough to pack up the kids and go. This year, Awesome Con will take place March 30 through April 1 at the Washington Convention Center. Tickets are available here, but I’ve got a special treat for Roarbots readers: Use the code ROARBOTSKIDS at checkout to get free kids tickets! But that’s not all! Enter our giveaway below to win a family 5-pack of tickets (2 single-day adult tickets and 3 kids tickets). Good luck! And have fun! This giveaway is now over. Thanks for entering! Look for Li’l Hamilton again this year! You Might Also Like...
