If you live in the Mid-Atlantic, all it takes is one look outside to remind you that winter is still here. We’ve had far too many delayed openings and canceled days of school for my taste.

But what better way to anticipate the eventual arrival of spring than with that little blue engine Thomas? This April, the B&O Railroad Museum in Baltimore will once again play host to the ever-popular Day out with Thomas!

Click here and here for our reviews of previous Day out with Thomas events at the Strasburg Rail Road in Lancaster, PA. The event in Baltimore will be very similar.

On April 26-28 and May 3-5, Thomas will be rolling into Charm City and giving rides as part of the Steam Team Tour! Thomas rides last approximately 25 minutes. Additional activities include a meet-and-greet with Sir Topham Hatt, art-and-crafts stations, carnival games, a moon bounce, more train tables and Thomas toys than you’ve ever seen assembled in one place, and free rides on the museum’s carousel, among other things.

Live entertainment includes TK the DJ Champion of Kids, Marty the Magician, and The Pied Piper of Percussion. In addition, everything normally available and on display at the wonderful B&O Railroad Museum will be open, not least of which is the amazing collection of locomotives and train cars in the Roundhouse and North Car Shop.

Frankly, if your kids love trains and/or Thomas, this event is everything they could ever want.
