Featured PostToys Transformers BotBots Are Back With Series 2 – New Bots, New Teams! By Anthony Karcz April 5, 2019 ShareTweet 0 BotBots are back and better than ever with Series 2! Hitting stores now (just in time to fill those Easter baskets), you can grab brand new 5-packs, 8-packs, and tons of blind bag singles. There are 60 brand-new molds, with 10 of those being rare, and 3 new tribes: Swag Stylers, Music Mob, and Spoiled Rottens. Some of the new Lost Bots fit into these tribes as well. You’ll notice from the lists below that the roster for some of the new teams is a little light. Their numbers are bolstered by having redeco ships in the same wave. What’s nice is that, if the distribution in my 8-packs is indicative of what’s shipping to stores, you should be able to find a rare bot without having to resort to blind packs. Several of the blister-packed BotBots in my box from Hasbro included Prince Perfumus, a rare three-star bot, on display. Come to me, my pretties. (Image: Anthony Karcz) The blind packs are where the fun’s at, though. I found once I started to tear through and check bots off the Series 2 list, it was practically impossible to stop. Check out my Instagram feed for unboxing results! 190 Chances for Fun I wasn’t sure if I’d be all that into a Series 2 of BotBots or if the concept would have grown cold for me. But then, in quick succession I unboxed a dinosaur coffee pot named Javasaurus-Rex and a rotting leg of ham with a hidden sword in the hambone named Hamurai and I was grinning from ear to ear. Look at this stuff, isn’t it neat? No. My collection’s not complete. (Image: Anthony Karcz) The existing teams (the ones without pictures below) are mostly redecoed, with the majority of the new molds going to the new teams. There are a few that snuck in to the Lost Bots tribe, though (Hamurai is my favorite of those) and a lot of the new paint and slight remolding is so well done, there’s no doubt they’re new characters. BotBots are fun and have personality that just isn’t found in the more staid Transformers lines. I mean, there’s a keytar that transforms so he can play himself! These are the perfect rainy day toys to keep hidden away. Series 2 is hitting shelves now. How many can you find?
