ShareTweet 0 To borrow a (somewhat ham-handed) phrase from the recent Avengers movie: we’re in the endgame now. With the start of NYCC, it’s the beginning of the end for Hasbro’s Unicron crowdfunding campaign. And they’re looking to give even more to the super fans who back the planet eater. If only there were tiny Dinobots to coax into the shuttle. (Image: Hasbro) One mini figure (sorry, “slug”) wasn’t enough for you? How about two? That’s right, in addition to the micro-mini Galvatron, we’ll also be getting Hot Rod so you can stage a teeny-tiny unarticulated showdown from the end of the movie. Also included is a not-to-scale shuttle, modeled after the one the Autobots used to escape Autobot City! One shall *stand*, one shall fall…eh? EH? (Image: Hasbro) These three new accessories all fit on a special stand that has a spot in the center to hold Unicron’s disembodied head (a feature revealed just before the previous deadline). Now with the ability to flip off Primus. (Image: Hasbro) Plus, Unicron himself is getting an upgrade! He’s now got three joints in each finger, bringing the total hand articulation up to 15 points from 10. Usually only seen in third-party toys, this level of articulation is great to see in a figure this expensive. If he’s as big as a planet, how is he standing on a planet? Hmmm. (Image: IDW) That’s not enough? You want more? Well, you’re in luck. Hasbro has teamed up with IDW to give every Unicron backer a digital bundle of the currently unavailable Transformers: The Animated Movie four-issue limited series by Bob Budiansky, Don Figueroa, and Josh Burcham with an all-new cover by Andrew Griffith. You’ll also get the first issue of the current ongoing Transformers series (but if you follow us, you should already have a copy of that, right?). With just over three days to go, Unicron is sitting right around 7,000 backers. Can we get 1,000 backers in a weekend? Most definitely. I think the goal is well within the reach of the fan community. Really, the only question remaining is if you’re going to have space for this giant, collection-defining figure in your current display. The Unicron campaign ends on October 6, just before midnight. You can preorder him for $574 right now on HasbroPulse.com If you’re just now discovering the Unicron campaign, be sure to check out our previous coverage!
