ShareTweet 0 Have you been hoping that we had more up our sleeves after last night’s epic reveal of Optimus Maximus? Well, your prayers to Primus have been answered. (Incidentally, if you haven’t read Lost Light Volume 4, I’m about to spoil something rather huge. So I’m going to put some space between this and the card reveal.) . . . . . . . . . . Still with me? Have you read Volume 4 yet? No? Well then I’ll wait. . . . . . . . . . Ready? I’m ready. Let’s do this. Wave 2 Battle Cards The folks at Wizards of the Coast were kind enough to send three new battle cards over this afternoon. The first features everyone’s favorite amnesiac Cybertronian creator, Primus! I mean, um, Rung. (click photos to enlarge) Oh, hey Eyebrows. (Image: Wizards of the Coast/Hasbro) Scrounge is a fun action that lets you take a gamble on the top card of your deck. OR if you have a character or card that lets you Plan, you can make sure the top card of your deck is an Upgrade. If it is, you get to play it immediately. Pretty handy. (Image: Wizards of the Coast/Hasbro) It works especially well when you have a card like Secret Dealings in your hand that lets you draw a card, then Plan 1. (Image: Wizards of the Coast/Hasbro) As is the case with many of the battle cards, for every positive action, there’s a negative. And that’s exactly what you get with Smelt. So your opponent thinks they’ve got everything planned out perfectly with their Plan actions? Just make sure you have Smelt in your hand and when they play that “free” Upgrade, it’s going straight to the scrap heap. Beastly Upgrades Also revealed this afternoon on the Transformers TCG Twitter page (@transformersTCG)Â is this duo of upgrades for your Dinobots and Predacons. (Image: Wizards of the Coast/Hasbro) Electrified Spikes is a Dinobot-only upgrade that gives you more armor and also lets you deal damage when you flip two orange pips. (Image: Wizards of the Coast/Hasbro) Tooth and Claw eschews armor altogether and instead lets you equip a second weapon. Who needs defense when you’ve got extra offense? Wave 2 is going to really shake up the Transformers Trading Card Game in a good way. I can’t wait to get my hands on Wave 2 and start playing. Just barely over a month to go! You Might Also Like...
