I’ve wanted to see Alita: Battle Angel for years. I’ve never read the manga it was based on. I didn’t even know what it was about. I just remember James Cameron getting the rights to it and talking about it as his “next movie” (I think this was after True Lies). It was a next movie that never came (while he fiddled with Titanic and Avatar). Somewhere along the way, he lost the desire to direct Alita himself. He stayed on as a producer (and given the look and feel of the film – he was a pretty hands-on producer), and Alita has finally seen the light of day. Was it worth the wait?
