PopMinded is Back with New Exclusive Star Wars Ornaments and More at Celebration 2019

0

Hallmark’s PopMinded booth will be back at this year’s Star Wars Celebration in Chicago, and they are bringing the goods! When I went in 2017, their booth always had a line and was one of the first I went to when I got to the convention floor.

It should be your first stop for this year’s Celebration as well.

Each day, PopMinded will be selling a limited number of Hallmark Keepsake ornaments and itty bittys exclusive to the convention.

The centerpiece for this Celebration’s Star Wars collectibles is the Beginnings: C-3PO and R2-D2 Keepsake Ornament two-pack. These awesome ornaments are inspired by the original preproduction art Ralph McQuarrie did for A New Hope (I grabbed the Stormtrooper back in 2017).

I love the Metropolitan vibe of Threepio and you can really see how Rebels went back to the well to find inspiration for Chopper! Only 3,000 have been produced for sale at Celebration 2019, and PopMinded will limit sales to 600 per day. At $40 a set, they’ll make a unique and relatively inexpensive addition to your collection.

Set Phasers to Adorable

On the itty bittys front, we’re getting the most adorable Boushh you’ve ever seen, plus a Chewbacca-inspired bandolier to carry the bounty hunter and all of your extra plushies.

Boushh is $10 and there will only be 2,000 sold at the show, with sales limited to 400 per day. The bandolier you can grab for $18 on its own or for just $8 if you buy three Star Wars itty bittys. Yeah, you’ll be seeing a lot of folks walking around the convention floor with these and, yeah, you’re going to regret it if you’re not one of them. Don’t fight it. Buy the itty bittys. Get the bandolier. It is your destiny.

Bring Your Jean Jacket

Each day at the PopMinded booth, they’ll be handing out a different pin for free. The free pins are your standard round pin with an animated itty bittys character on it. However, if you want something really unique, you can try to grab one of the only 100-per-day Ahsoka Tano pins from PopMinded’s PXL8 line. It’s an adorable 8-bit rendition of the young apprentice and will set you back $8.

This is a-Salt

When they said “there are always two” I don’t think this is what they had in mind. (Image: Hallmark)

I had originally waved off the Darth Maul salt and pepper shaker when I first saw the press release. Then I took a closer look. Then I immediately regretted not going to Celebration this year. As much as I hate the prequels, the opportunity to own a pair of salt and pepper shakers that split in half to emulate Maul’s fate at the end of Episode I is well worth standing in line. The production run is super limited at only 700, and only 140 sets will be sold each day for $25 per set.

Sneak Peek!

For those of you that will be there and want to see what Hallmark will be up to this holiday season, make sure you clear a spot on Saturday, April 13 from 3-4pm. Christine Taylor, Licensing Creative Manger for Hallmark and Creative Director of PopMinded, will host a panel featuring Hallmark product artists and creators.

They’ll discuss the upcoming 2019 line of Star Wars Keepsake Ornaments and itty bittys and answer your questions. (Maybe someone could ask why they haven’t made a Dewback Keepsake ornament yet? Thanks.) For those of you who really like to plan ahead, you’ll also get a super early sneak peek at what’s coming in 2020.

Star Wars ornaments are one of my favorite things about the holiday season, and I can’t wait to see what they have planned. More news in a couple of weeks!
