Forget March. We’re stretching this Robot Madness matchup as long as we can. Don’t believe me? We’ll still be here in June with this bracket; just watch.

I kid. Today sees the results of the “East” region of our Round 1 matchups, and we find out which eight robots advance. For those curious how we matched all 64 of our contenders up, check out our first post here. And if you missed the first batch of results, click here.

But let’s get down to business.

“East” Region

(1) Vision vs (16) 80s Robot

Soul stone vs LEDs. Vibranium vs … vacuform plastic? I don’t know if Vision can drive but he DOES have a bangin’ cape. Alas, poor cute and cuddly, we hardly knew ye. Vision takes the round.

(8) Good Use Robots Bill & Ted vs (9) Baymax

Bill & Ted’s “Good Robot Uses” were hastily constructed by Station in the back of a moving van using dustbusters and other ’80s supplies. With Baymax’s innate desire to heal, those clunky broken down Bill & Ted robots were rendered sleek, smooth, and sedated. Plus, Station’s creations were no match for the power of flight (that’s levitation, holmes).

(5) Ava vs (12) The Fix-Its

Ava killed her creator, emotionally manipulated someone into freeing her and left him to die, and then killed a poor helicopter pilot to escape. But the logical choice doesn’t always win.

(4) ED-209 vs (13) Bishop

Another upset! ED-209 was supposed to be the friendly face of neighborhood policing. Despite its glitchy programming and willingness to use lethal force (poor Mr. Kinney), it was taken down in overtime by Bishop – who learned a thing or three from the Xenomorphs.

(6) Klaatu vs (11) TARS and CASE

Whatever threat TARS and CASE may have presented doesn’t matter when you’re instantly vaporized. Earth continues to stand still with Klaatu’s win.

(3) Killbot vs (14) Maria

When’s the last time you took a trip to the Chopping Mall? Maria may be iconic, but the Killbot has lasers and 80s horror nostalgia to put it over the top.

(7) Sonny vs (10) Max

Human emotion AND killer aim? Max’s need for a navigator leaves him at a disadvantage when battling a robot dead set on winning.

(2) T-1000 vs (15) Tik-Tok

‪The T-1000 had to assume an identity once it arrived in Oz. The only human it saw was Dorothy Gale and she was easy prey. Once the T-1000 assumed her identity, Tik Tok could do little to protect himself as Dorothy ripped him apart.‬
