The collectible card game Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Champions is finally getting a console release on the Nintendo Switch on April 16, with added features. The console release will see the addition of a single player campaign named Realm Trials and will add dozens of hours of single player experience. The Switch release will also feature cross-play functionality. Any cards that you have bought in the mobile or PC version will also be available in the console edition, in addition to your physical cards you scanned into the game. In a press release, CEO and cofounder of PlayFusion, Mark Gehard had this to say: The response for the physical and digital game has already been incredible, and we just can’t wait to watch that grow to new heights. With the upcoming release of our Set 3 cards in Savagery, and a whole heap of new features like Arena of Echoes and Realm Trials, there’s always going to be something new to try. And now, there will be a much bigger community to try with. I think the portability that the Switch has to offer makes CCGs an ideal style of game for the console. The Nintendo eShop has very little to offer for this genre, making this release a no brainer. I can’t wait to try out Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Champions when it launches later this month.
