Faithful readers, today I bring you the results of the “North” region of our Round 1 matchups, and we follow eight more robots into Round 2. For those curious how we matched all 64 of our contenders up, check out our first post here. And if you missed the first two batches of results, click here and here.

“North” Region

(1) Voltron vs (16) Plex

Yellow is the common theme in this match and Hunk is way too much of a softie to use his shoulder cannon on a dancing kid’s robot. Keith and Black won’t be so merciful with the jawblade, though, and ghost Shiro ain’t got time for that shit. Voltron lions take the round.

(8) Astro Boy vs (9) T-Bob

Two cartoon robots but only one that’s a glorified scooter. Astro Boy scoots by this challenge without much difficulty.

(5) Data vs (12) Curiosity

We all know Curiosity killed the cat, and we know how Data feels about his cat Spot. So there was really no question how this matchup would end.

(4) Cy-Kill vs (13) Tom Servo & Crow T. Robot

‪Tom Servo and Crow were programmed in the art of comedy, while Cy-Kill only lusts after the thrill of victory. It turns out Cy-Kill is a threat not only to Earth and Gobotron but also to the Satellite of Love as well. Cy-Kill blasted them to bits when they refused to become Renegades‬.

(6) The Robot vs (11) Urkelbot

Sometimes, you feel sorry for these lopsided matchups and the resulting carnage. Other times… “Did I do th-ZZZAAAAAAP!”

(3) Animatronic Abe Lincoln vs (14) Roomba

Roomba had great intentions, but the ruffled carpet in the Hall of Presidents was just too much for the poor little guy. Honest Abe took this one… honestly.

(7) K-9 vs (10) Robby

I’ll admit to having a soft spot for both of these, but only one is capable of shooting lasers out of its nose, making an easy win for K-9.

(2) Cylon vs (15) R.O.B.

An IRL bot made by a video game company versus machines that came very close to wiping out humanity? Some of these matches are almost unfair.
