As far as theme parks go in central Florida, LEGOLAND isn’t usually the first one people think about. In a crowded landscape, it typically gets mentioned well behind its more famous competition. But if you have younger kids and are making a trip to Orlando, you should put it on your clipboard of fun. Listen to our experience here! http://traffic.libsyn.com/bodaciouslyawesomefamilyshow/LegoLand_completed.mp3Podcast: Play in new window | Download LEGOLAND is interesting for a few reasons. Obviously, it has a LEGO theme throughout – and that theme is blended in very well. In the middle of the park is an amazing miniland of various city landscapes all done in LEGO. It’s absolutely amazing. The more interesting thing about the park is that LEGO bought out an old Florida theme park for the land – Cypress Gardens. They kept some of the unique aspects of Cypress Gardens intact, however. So, outside the LEGO theme, you’ll find a few oddities like a water ski show and a large garden you can walk through (with an amazingly huge banyan tree in the middle). Then, of course, there are rides. Lots of rides. Two important parent tips on the rides: they’re all designed for kids (so you don’t run into too many “Sorry, you have to be this tall before you can ride this ride” issues), and many of the queue lines are interactive to keep kids engaged while they wait. Both of those whittle down on the eventual child whining, making it a far more enjoyable theme park experience. Plus, you can go back to listen to our other theme park/Disney episodes here on The Roarbots: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Strange Snacks at Epcot, and the Animal Kingdom. You Might Also Like...
